Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman who is a businesswoman. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss, a Californian native was raised with an extremely wealthy background. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty business tycoon before becoming the owner of the Lakers. When she was in the year 1972, her parents broke up up and she felt emotionally lost. At the age of 19 she was able to take over the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. She founded later in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. Before she became vice president of the Lakers, she served as president of the Great Western Forum. Buss along with her five sisters and brothers, as well as their father who was the owner of the Lakers and controlled them until the time of his death in 2013, took over this ownership through an estate.
