Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinctive mixture of soul gospel, R&B as well as R&B. Her career path has taken her from Broadway to European festivals and clubs and even to her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang and performed piano. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B musical scene. In 2005, she became the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her about being the director of the choral group for the stage production. Sunshine gained national recognition during her four daily performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
